As some of you know, the I'm working as a wedding photographer in a company called João Almeida Fotografia. In the past year I had the honor to document the happiest day of the life of many people. If you asked a few years ago when I started if I wanted to become a wedding photographer I probably said 'hell no!', but the truth is, I found what I really love to do.
I work every weekend for like 16 hours a day, my social life is pretty much nonexistent but it's all worth it (I can't spend a minute, even when I'm sleeping, without seeing photography everywhere. I dream about taking photos of 'my' beautiful brides in stunning locations, I'm always looking for new inspiration, etc. Photography, more specifically, wedding photography is my life. If you're a wedding photographer or you're in the wedding business and you love what you do, you'll get what I'm saying. Life is so unpredictable and yet so beautiful. I'm thankful for what I became, for where I am, and for where I stand as a photographer (I know that I'm a better photographer than I was yesterday, but I also know that tomorrow I can be much better than today).
They say that if you do what you love you'll never work a day in your life. I always thought that it wasn't that literal, that it was another made quote of something that sounds pretty to say, but I can really say now, it's true. I love what I do and I'm glad I found what I'm good at.
And that's all for today. Feels good to be writing again (why in the world did I stop?) so expect me to be writing a lot for the next days :)
